Trump on Epstein Files: ‘Hoax’ but Threatens Clinton

The ongoing release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes continues to stir controversy, and Donald Trump has found himself at the center of the discussion. Despite labeling the entire situation a “hoax,” Trump has also issued threats to investigate alleged Epstein associates, including former President Bill Clinton, using the DOJ and FBI.

Epstein Emails Mentioning Trump Surface

House Democrats investigating Epstein’s crimes recently released a significant batch of emails obtained from his estate. This dump, part of a larger release of over 23,000 documents, includes communications that mention Donald Trump. One particularly viral email exchange between Epstein and his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell (currently serving 20 years for her role in the sex trafficking operation), discusses Trump.

In the email, Epstein wrote to Maxwell, “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump.” He noted that a victim had spent hours at his house with Trump, yet Trump had never been mentioned. Maxwell’s reply, “I have been thinking about that…,” adds to the intrigue surrounding their conversation.

The ‘Trump Blowing Bubba’ Email

Another email that has gained traction involves Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein. In a March 2018 exchange, Mark asked Jeffrey about “Trump blowing Bubba.” While the identity of “Bubba” is unclear, it’s widely speculated to be former President Bill Clinton, whose known nickname is “Bubba.”

The conversation continued with Mark asking about Steve Bannon and whether Russian President Vladimir Putin had “the photos of Trump blowing Bubba.” Epstein’s replies, including a Yiddish term for problems, “tsuris,” and referring to Trump as “DONNI TEE,” add layers of complexity. Mark Epstein has since denied that “Bubba” refers to Bill Clinton, but offered no further clarification.

Trump’s Reaction: ‘Hoax’ and Threats

Reacting to the released emails, Donald Trump took to Truth Social, calling the Epstein situation a “Hoax” used by Democrats to deflect from their own failures, particularly the government shutdown. He argued that Epstein was a Democrat’s problem, not a Republican’s.

However, his stance shifted as he later threatened to involve the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI. Trump stated he would ask Attorney General Pam Bondi and these agencies to investigate Epstein’s involvement with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan Chase, and other individuals and institutions. He suggested these figures, not himself, should be the focus of any investigation, claiming, “I have a Country to run!”

Dismissing the Files and Targeting Associates

On November 14, Trump reiterated his belief that the Epstein files were a “hoax.” He specifically mentioned Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, and Reid Hoffman, urging investigators to look into their relationships with Epstein, noting that they “know all about him.” He also questioned why these documents weren’t used before the election if they held any real significance.

When asked by reporters about Ghislaine Maxwell and the possibility of a pardon, Trump claimed he hadn’t thought about it in months, neither ruling it in nor out. He also addressed Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s push for the release of the files, stating he “doesn’t care about it. Released or not.” He reiterated that the focus should be on Epstein’s friends and associates.
