The Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood was aglow on Sunday, November 9th, as Hollywood’s biggest stars turned out in full force for the 14th Annual Baby2Baby Gala. This star-studded event not only showcased incredible fashion but also celebrated the vital work of Baby2Baby, an organization dedicated to supporting mothers and children living in poverty.
Serena Williams Honored for Maternal Health Advocacy
This year’s gala honored tennis legend Serena Williams with the prestigious Giving Tree Award. The award recognizes her significant advocacy for maternal health. The presentation was made even more special by her longtime friend Alicia Keys, who took the stage to present the award. Adding to the star power, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a rare public appearance to show their support for Williams during this important moment.
The evening was filled with glamour and purpose, featuring a special performance by Ludacris. Presenters for the night included a host of beloved celebrities such as Ciara, Jessica Alba, Julie Bowen, Kerry Washington, Malin Akerman, and Olivia Munn, all lending their voices to the cause.
Baby2Baby’s Impact and Future Plans
Over its 14-year history, Baby2Baby has made an extraordinary impact, providing over half a billion essential items—including diapers, formula, and clothing—to children in need across the country. Co-CEO Norah Weinstein highlighted the organization’s response to recent L.A. fires, distributing over 31 million emergency supplies to affected families, emphasizing that help is needed across all socioeconomic lines.
Looking ahead, Baby2Baby announced ambitious plans, including the construction of a new national headquarters and warehouse in Santa Monica, set to open in 2027. Furthermore, a $9 million grant from New York State will fund a program to provide essential postpartum items to 100,000 mothers on Medicaid statewide next year, aiming to address mental health struggles exacerbated by the inability to afford critical baby supplies.
A Night of Style and Generosity
The gala saw attendees like Ayesha Curry, Tyler Perry, Vanessa Bryant (with daughter Natalia), Kendrick Lamar’s wife Whitney Alford, Lizzo and her boyfriend Myke Wright, Taylor Rooks, Lauren London, and Jeannie Mai showcasing their finest looks. Each celebrity’s presence underscored their commitment to supporting Baby2Baby’s mission, turning a night of fashion into a powerful force for good.
