Susan Lorincz Threatens Lawsuit Against Ajike Owens’ Family

In a shocking turn of events, Susan Lorincz, the white woman recently found guilty of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Ajike “AJ” Owens, is now threatening legal action against Owens’ family. This comes after Lorincz was featured in the Netflix documentary ‘The Perfect Neighbor,’ which detailed her history of racist behavior and excessive 911 calls.

A Defamation Lawsuit Threat

According to WCJB, Lorincz is reportedly planning to file a countersuit against Ajike Owens’ mother, Pamela Dias, and a defamation lawsuit against Owens’ children. Lorincz claims one of the children allegedly lied during a deposition, stating that Lorincz threw a roller skate at them. For this alleged slander, libel, and defamation of character, Lorincz is seeking $50,000 in damages.

This move is particularly galling given that Lorincz is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence for the shooting death of Ajike Owens. The hope from many is that she endures every second of her sentence, making this lawsuit threat seem even more audacious.

Lorincz’s Counterclaims

Reporting from Ocala News indicates that Lorincz’s countersuit accuses the Owens family of threatening her and violating the “no trespassing” signs posted on her property. She alleges that Ajike Owens was angry and screamed profanities when attempting to confront Lorincz about her behavior. Lorincz’s response claims that Owens and her children were trespassing on June 2, 2023, and that the sheriff’s department had instructed them to stay off the property.

Furthermore, Lorincz’s complaint targets the children and other witnesses who testified that Owens had threatened the then-58-year-old. Lorincz’s response specifically mentions a “female juvenile” who testified seeing Owens throw a metal sign that struck Lorincz in the leg, noting she was recovering from neck fusion surgery at the time.

A Community’s Reaction

The sentiment from many observers is one of disbelief and anger. The idea that Lorincz, who is serving a lengthy prison sentence for a racially charged killing, would pursue a lawsuit against the victim’s family is seen as outrageous. The focus remains on Lorincz serving her full sentence, with little sympathy for her current legal endeavors.
