The holiday season is a time for family, and it seems King Combs is holding out hope that his father, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, might be home to celebrate. Despite recent news suggesting a delay in his release date, the 27-year-old rapper offered a glimmer of optimism.
A Glimmer of Hope for the Holidays
Speaking with TMZ at Los Angeles International Airport, King Combs hinted that his father might not serve his full 50-month sentence. “He’ll be home soon,” he told the outlet, sparking speculation about an early return.
This hopeful outlook comes after reports surfaced earlier in November indicating that Diddy’s release date had been pushed back. His tentative release date was reportedly moved from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028.
Why the Release Date Shift?
The reason for the initial release date adjustment is reportedly due to alleged violations of prison rules. Sources suggest these violations included drinking homemade alcohol and making a three-way phone call while incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Pardon Speculation and White House Response
When asked by TMZ if a presidential pardon was in the works, King Combs remained coy, responding, “Never know.” He also hinted at potential contact with President Donald Trump’s administration by saying, “Stay tuned.”
However, the White House has officially denied any plans to commute Diddy’s sentence. A White House official stated, “There is zero truth to the TMZ report… The President, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations.”
