Trump Vows to Find Kirk Assassins, Blames ‘Radical Left’

In a powerful video message posted on Truth Social, President Donald Trump declared his unwavering commitment to finding everyone responsible for the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump pointed fingers at the “radical left,” asserting that their relentless rhetoric has created a climate where such violence becomes a tragic consequence.

Blaming Hateful Rhetoric

“It’s a long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year, in the most hateful and despicable way possible for years,” Trump stated. He specifically criticized the comparison of individuals like Kirk to Nazis and mass murderers, labeling this kind of language as directly fueling the “terrorism” seen in the country today.

Trump, who considered Kirk a friend, described the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder as a “martyr for truth and freedom.” Kirk was fatally shot during a campus speaking event at Utah Valley University. The President vowed that his administration would pursue “each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence.”

A Pattern of Political Violence

The President drew parallels to other incidents of political violence, referencing the attack on his own life in Pennsylvania, assaults on ICE agents, the murder of a healthcare executive in New York, and the shooting of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise. He highlighted how “radical and political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives.”

Notably, Trump’s remarks did not mention the assassinations of Democratic Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, nor the attempted assassination of Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. This omission has drawn attention amidst the broader discussion of political violence.

Posthumous Medal of Freedom Awarded

During remarks at the Pentagon commemorating the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, President Trump announced that Charlie Kirk would be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. Trump urged Americans to embrace the values Kirk championed, such as free speech, suggesting that Kirk’s voice will resonate even more powerfully in death.

“Today, because of this heinous act, Charlie’s voice has become bigger and grander than ever before.” — President Donald Trump

The President concluded by emphasizing that the “monster who attacked him was attacking our whole country.” He asserted that despite the assassin’s attempt to silence Kirk with a bullet, his message and legacy will endure for generations to come.
