Kim K: ‘God Intervened’ in Failed Execution

In a dramatic turn of events, death row inmate Tony Carruthers’ execution in Tennessee was halted after officials struggled to administer the lethal injection. Kim Kardashian, who has been actively advocating for Carruthers, believes divine intervention played a role in the outcome.

A Failed Execution and a Reprieve

Carruthers, 57, was convicted in 1994 for the murders of three people. His legal team, along with the ACLU and Kim Kardashian, had been pushing for DNA testing on forensic evidence they believe could prove his innocence. Despite these pleas, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee rejected calls to stop the execution, which was scheduled for May 21, 2026.

However, when the moment arrived, prison officials encountered significant difficulties in finding a vein to administer the lethal injection. This complication ultimately prevented the execution from proceeding, saving Carruthers’ life, at least for now.

Kardashian’s Reaction and Plea

Reacting to the news on her Instagram Story, Kardashian exclaimed, ‘God was intervening!!!’ She expressed relief that the execution was halted due to the procedural issues. Following the failed attempt, Governor Lee granted Carruthers a one-year reprieve.

Kardashian thanked everyone who contacted the governor’s office, believing that public pressure contributed to the reprieve. She emphasized the importance of DNA testing, stating, ‘Putting a man to death without even DNA testing to be sure is absolutely inhumane!!!’ She hopes this additional time will allow for the crucial evidence to be examined.

The Fight for Justice Continues

This incident highlights the ongoing debate surrounding capital punishment and the importance of thorough legal processes. Kardashian’s continued involvement underscores her commitment to criminal justice reform and her belief in ensuring all avenues for exoneration are explored.
