According to the Seminole Police Department, Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, has been charged with disorderly conduct—affray, a first-degree misdemeanor in Florida. While speculation initially attempted to link him more directly to the shooting, officials have clarified that he is not facing any weapons-related charges. Merritt was booked into the Broward County Jail late Monday night.
The police statement confirmed that a second individual detained at the scene has not been charged, and the investigation is ongoing to identify any other parties involved. Records indicate Lil Tjay is being held on a $500 bond for the disorderly conduct charge and an additional $2,500 bond for a separate traffic violation.
