Good news for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, at least in terms of his prison timeline. The music mogul’s projected release date has been moved up again, shaving off another 10 days from his sentence. This latest adjustment means he’s now expected to be released on April 15, 2028, instead of April 25, 2028.
A Shorter Sentence
This isn’t the first time Diddy’s release date has been adjusted. Just weeks prior, his sentence was already shortened by over a month. The 56-year-old is currently serving a 50-month sentence following his 2025 conviction on two federal counts related to transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
While he was acquitted of more serious charges like sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, the current sentence is still significant. Diddy is being held at FCI Fort Dix, a facility his legal team specifically requested due to its drug treatment programs and proximity to his family, aiming to maximize visitation and rehabilitative efforts.
Good Behavior and Rehabilitation
These reductions in his release date are likely tied to good behavior credits and his participation in prison rehabilitation programs. Last year, Diddy appealed both his conviction and sentence. His legal team argued that the sexual encounters discussed during the trial were consensual and that the judge imposed an unfair punishment, calling the sentence a “perversion of justice.”
Federal prosecutors, however, pushed back, asserting that Combs used “violence,” “threats,” and “drugs” in the conduct leading to his conviction. Arguments for his appeal are expected to be heard on April 9th, adding another layer to the ongoing legal proceedings.
