Things got serious near Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion recently, and now a woman has entered a plea in court. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, is facing some heavy charges after an alleged shooting incident near the superstar’s home, and she’s officially pleaded not guilty.
The Allegations Against Ortiz
According to prosecutors, Ortiz showed up at the home shared by Rihanna and A$AP Rocky on March 8th. The serious part? She allegedly opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle while the couple and their family were inside. Thankfully, no one was reported injured during the incident.
Ortiz reportedly fled the scene but was later arrested in Sherman Oaks. She’s currently being held in custody with bail set at a staggering $1.875 million. Her attorney tried to get the bail reduced to $70,000, pointing to her financial situation, but the judge wasn’t swayed and denied the request.
Motive and Potential Consequences
The motive behind the alleged shooting remains unclear. However, reports suggest Ortiz may have posted messages online that seemed to reference Rihanna, with one message reading, “Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me.” Sources close to the household say the incident left everyone quite shaken.
The charges Ortiz faces are severe. She’s not only charged with attempted murder but also 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. If convicted on all counts, she could be looking at a potential life sentence in prison.
