Mia Thornton Faces New Rent Lawsuit

It seems like “The Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Mia Thornton is finding herself in the headlines for legal matters once again. This time, the reality star is being accused of skipping out on her rent payments, adding another layer to her recent legal woes.

New Lawsuit Over Unpaid Rent

According to court documents filed on March 18, 2026, Thornton is being sued for allegedly failing to pay $2,859 in rent for the month of March. The situation is compounded by additional fees, which have reportedly pushed the total balance owed to nearly $3,500. As of now, representatives for Thornton have not issued a public response to these new claims.

This latest legal filing comes at a challenging time for Thornton, as she’s still navigating a separate, more serious criminal case. Just four months prior, she was arrested on felony theft charges.

Ongoing Legal Battles

The felony charges stem from allegations that over $11,000 worth of furniture was taken from a rental property in Atlanta. Police reports indicated that the missing items included electronics like televisions and radios. Thornton was reportedly taken into custody without incident and processed at the Fulton County Jail. Body camera footage later surfaced showing her acknowledging awareness of an arrest warrant.

This isn’t the first time Thornton has faced housing-related legal issues. Before her arrest, a property management company had already filed an eviction lawsuit against her, claiming she hadn’t paid rent on a three-bedroom unit in Atlanta. That previous complaint was seeking over $5,000 in back rent, plus ongoing monthly charges.

Leaving the Potomac Franchise

Fans will remember that Mia Thornton announced her departure from “The Real Housewives of Potomac” in April 2025. This decision came shortly after the Season 9 reunion, concluding her four-season run on the popular Bravo series. Her exit marked the end of an era for many viewers who followed her journey on the show.
