Well, it seems like Ray J is stepping up to defend his big sister, Brandy! He’s taken to social media with a message for music power couple JAY-Z and Beyoncé, calling them out for what he perceives as a lack of courtesy during their attendance at ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour’.
In a video posted to his Instagram, Ray J expressed his feelings directly. He believes that when the Carters attend the shows, they should make an effort to greet and show love to Brandy, not just the other artists on the bill. He specifically mentioned that they attend Brandy and Monica’s shows but don’t always say hello to Brandy.
Ray J’s Plea for Courtesy
“I’m just saying like, n***as need to pull up, like when they come to the show, come say, what’s up to Brandy too, Jay-Z and Beyonce,” Ray J stated in the clip. He emphasized his love for both Jay and B, acknowledging them as the biggest stars in the world, but still felt a basic courtesy was missing.
He elaborated, “Y’all walk by Brandy room. Just pull up and say, what’s up, B, have a good show.” Ray J admitted he’s speaking out even though Brandy herself hasn’t complained, indicating he’s feeling particularly passionate about this issue.
The Importance of Small Gestures
It’s an interesting point Ray J raises. In the world of celebrity, sometimes the smallest gestures can mean the most. Showing a little love and acknowledging everyone involved in a production, especially when you’re a guest, can go a long way.
While JAY-Z and Beyoncé are undoubtedly global superstars, a quick hello or a photo op with Brandy could be seen as a simple act of respect for a fellow artist and friend. It’s about extending courtesy to everyone who makes the event a success.
Do you agree with Ray J? Should JAY-Z and Beyoncé make a point to greet Brandy when they attend ‘The Boy Is Mine Tour’? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
