It’s been a tough time for singer Ray J, who is currently hospitalized after being knocked out during a celebrity MMA fight. The incident occurred during Adin Ross’s Brand Risk 14 event, and Ray J has reportedly been battling significant health issues, particularly with his heart.
Battling Heart Issues Post-Fight
Ray J’s representative shared photos of him in a Las Vegas hospital, hooked up to various medical machines, indicating he was on his third day of hospitalization. Speaking to The Shade Room, Ray J himself shared a video from his hospital bed, explaining that his heart is “back down bad.” This isn’t the first time the singer has faced serious heart concerns.
As previously reported, Ray J has a history of heart problems stemming from years of substance abuse. Earlier this year, he experienced a major health scare, claiming doctors told him he had only months to live due to pneumonia and his heart functioning at only 25 percent capacity. He emphasized the importance of staying focused and on the right path for recovery.
Denying Hoax Claims
Despite ongoing speculation and claims from some fans that Ray J might be faking his health issues for attention, he has repeatedly denied these accusations. His mother, Sonja Norwood, has also publicly defended her son, insisting that his health struggles are very real and require genuine prayers and support.
“It’s just gotten out of hand when someone thinks that my son is faking his health, or [that] it’s a hoax, or [that] he’s just playing around [and] he’s not really serious about it,” Norwood stated in a video, emphasizing her knowledge of her children’s well-being and thanking those who have shown genuine concern.
Looking Ahead
Ray J had previously mentioned in a livestream that doctors had given him a grim prognosis, suggesting 2027 might be his last year. While the exact details of his condition post-fight are still emerging, the focus remains on his recovery and the ongoing battle with his heart health.
