Ms. Rachel Praises NYC Black-Owned Business

Online kids’ content superstar Ms. Rachel is shining a spotlight on a New York City business that showed incredible kindness when others wouldn’t. She recently shared the heartwarming story of how the Playstreet Museum on the Upper West Side, a Black-owned establishment, opened its doors and hearts to Rahaf, a 3-year-old double amputee from Gaza.

A Safe Haven for a Special Day

In a touching Instagram post on November 18th, Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, revealed that three other venues had turned down the opportunity to host Rahaf for a special day. “The venue that welcomed Rahaf with open arms was Play Street Museum on the Upper West Side in NYC,” she wrote, expressing her deep affection for the owners, James and Kristina Payne.

The post included screenshots of Ms. Rachel’s outreach, photos from the special day filmed last July, and details about the interactive children’s museum. “Please support @paynefamilynyc and follow them and visit them,” Ms. Rachel urged her followers. “They immediately said yes, all kids are welcome here. They made me cry because I was so touched.”

Embodying Compassion for All Children

This heartwarming gesture comes after Ms. Rachel featured Rahaf on her popular YouTube show in May. The episode brought attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has tragically impacted countless Palestinian children. The owners of Playstreet Museum, James and Kristina Payne, shared their own sentiments about the experience.

“Hosting @msrachelforlittles is always an honor and privilege,” they posted at the time. “However, hosting Rahaf, her family and friends… was the ultimate honor that day. Rachel is the embodiment of boundless compassion for ALL kids EVERYWHERE. Rahaf is the personification of endless joy and strength despite unimaginable suffering.”

A Beacon of Inclusivity

Ms. Rachel’s story highlights the vital role that inclusive businesses play in creating positive experiences for children, especially those facing adversity. The Paynes’ immediate willingness to accommodate Rahaf, despite the circumstances, serves as a powerful example of kindness and a commitment to welcoming all children.
