Well, this legal drama just got a whole lot more interesting! Just weeks after Kim Kardashian and her momager Kris Jenner slapped Ray J with a defamation lawsuit, the singer is firing back with a countersuit of his own.
Ray J’s Allegations Against the Kardashians
Ray J’s countersuit, filed yesterday, claims that the infamous 2003 sex tape involving him and Kim Kardashian was actually consensual. He alleges that back in 2006, both he and Kim discussed releasing the tape, and it was Kim who insisted Kris Jenner manage its release and commercial exploitation.
According to TMZ, Ray J’s lawsuit contends that the Kardashians have spent the last two decades promoting a false narrative – that the tape was leaked against Kim’s will. This directly contradicts the claims made in the original lawsuit filed by Kim and Kris.
The Kardashians’ Attorney Responds
It didn’t take long for the Kardashians’ legal team to react. Alex Spiro, attorney for Kim Kardashian, dismissed Ray J’s countersuit as a “disjointed rambling distraction.” He stated, “After realizing he is losing the case and losing his way, this disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone. Ray J will lose this frivolous case too.”
RICO Allegations and Past Statements
This countersuit follows some explosive claims Ray J made just days before the Kardashians filed their lawsuit. During a livestream, he alleged that a massive federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) case was imminent against Kris and Kim, even comparing the potential charges to those faced by Diddy.
He also touched on the high-profile family in the Tubi documentary ‘United States vs. Sean Combs,’ declaring, “If you told me the Kardashians was being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.” These past statements add another layer of complexity to the ongoing legal battle.
