NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs is back in the headlines, but this time it’s not for his performance on the field. An Instagram model, Aileen Lopera, has confirmed through her attorney that Diggs is the biological father of her infant daughter.
DNA Test Confirms Paternity
According to attorney Tamar Arminak, a DNA test has officially verified Diggs’ paternity. “Mr. Diggs is indeed the father,” Arminak stated, expressing hope that both parents can now work together to raise their daughter positively. The case, however, is still active and could head to court if a private agreement isn’t reached.
Lopera initially filed a paternity petition in late 2024. This filing came shortly after news broke that Cardi B was expecting a baby with Diggs, adding another layer of public interest to the situation.
Custody and Costs: The Legal Details
In her initial filing, Lopera requested that Diggs cover pregnancy and delivery expenses, along with her legal fees. She also asked for sole custody of their daughter, Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, with visitation rights for Diggs.
Following Charliee’s birth in April 2025, Diggs responded by requesting a genetic test. Should the results confirm his paternity, he expressed a desire for joint custody and shared responsibility for the medical and legal costs associated with the pregnancy and birth.
Focus on the Future
While the legal proceedings are ongoing, the confirmation of paternity marks a significant step. The hope now is that both Stefon Diggs and Aileen Lopera can move towards a cooperative co-parenting arrangement for their daughter’s well-being.
