Antonio Brown Extradited for Miami Shooting

Big news for former NFL star Antonio Brown! After being sought for months, he has officially been extradited from Dubai back to the United States. He’s now set to face an attempted murder charge in Miami, Florida, following an incident earlier this year.

Back on U.S. Soil

Brown landed back in New Jersey and is expected to be transferred to the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections. The Miami Police Department confirmed his extradition on Thursday, November 6th, to face trial for attempted second-degree murder. This marks the end of a nearly five-month search for the athlete.

Legal experts suggest that Brown might not be granted bail, given he was apprehended overseas and could be considered a flight risk. While a transfer date to Miami-Dade County hasn’t been set, his return to the U.S. is a significant development in the case.

The Alleged Incident and Self-Defense Claims

The charges stem from an incident on May 16th, following an Adin Ross boxing event in Little Haiti. Viral videos showed Brown involved in a physical altercation with multiple individuals, during which gunshots were heard. Police allege Brown was seen shooting at a man twice.

Brown, however, has maintained his innocence, claiming he acted in self-defense. He stated he was being targeted and robbed during the melee and admitted to confronting a security guard. He told police he hadn’t done anything wrong, but a warrant for his arrest was issued the following month.

Connecting the Alleged Victim

The alleged victim in the shooting has been identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. Interestingly, Nantambu is also known for waving a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime show performance in February. Reports suggest a connection between Brown and Nantambu, with Brown posting on X that Nantambu is a ‘fraud, liar, stalker & criminal’ who had previously stolen from him and attempted to assault him.

Brown claimed Nantambu snuck into the May event trying to steal from him and threaten his life, asserting that the media was painting a false picture and that he was fighting for his life that night.
