Well, this is a plot twist nobody saw coming! Soulja Boy, known for his energetic hits and sometimes fiery online presence, is now issuing an apology to Kandi Burruss. This unexpected turn comes after a very public and profanity-laced livestream where he went off on the reality TV star and entrepreneur.
The Incident That Sparked the Feud
The whole situation kicked off when a clip from Kandi Burruss’s “Speak On It” podcast went viral. In the episode, Soulja Boy’s former videographer, Charlie Rocket, shared a story from 2007. Rocket alleged that while working for Soulja Boy in Las Vegas, the rapper had spit on leftover chicken fingers that Rocket had asked to eat because he was hungry. The alleged incident occurred after Soulja Boy had ordered $1,000 worth of room service.
After the podcast clip gained traction, Soulja Boy took to livestream to vehemently deny the claims. He unleashed a furious tirade, not only targeting Charlie Rocket but also directing intense anger towards Kandi Burruss for hosting the interview. He insulted her, made threats about “pulling up” to her Atlanta address, and even threatened legal action against her.
Kandi’s Unfazed Response
Kandi Burruss, however, is not one to be easily intimidated. Instead of backing down, she turned Soulja Boy’s threats into an opportunity for engagement. She responded on X (formerly Twitter), inviting him to “pull up” and suggesting they “speak on it.” Her calm and collected response seemed to de-escalate the situation from her end.
Soulja Boy Walks It Back
Ultimately, the threats subsided, and Soulja Boy decided to apologize. In a subsequent livestream, he admitted that his emotions had gotten the better of him. “Man, I’m sending out an apology to Kandi…You know, I overreact sometimes; I see stuff on the internet,” he stated. He expressed his respect for Kandi and asked her to accept his apology.
He clarified that his primary anger was directed at Charlie Rocket for what he considered a false accusation. Soulja Boy also mentioned that friends had advised him to focus his anger on the accuser rather than Kandi. It seems like a lesson learned about channeling frustration appropriately.
