Singer Breaks Silence After Arrest

In his Instagram post, Sammie stated, “Happy Sunday, first and foremost. I’m gonna let God have his say, and the courts have their say, and the truth shall set you free.” He added, “Love. I appreciate y’all. Thank y’all for the concerns. Love.” This message appears to challenge the allegations while showing gratitude for the support he’s received.

The 38-year-old singer, whose real name is Sammie Lee Bush Jr., was booked by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office on October 19th. He faces charges of first-degree battery as family violence and third-degree cruelty to children following a domestic incident involving his partner, Teanna Reid, and their child. Authorities allege that Sammie physically assaulted Reid in the presence of their child. He was released after posting a $1,050 bond.

Performance Amidst Controversy

Sammie’s public statement came just one day after he performed at the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta on October 25th. The festival featured a star-studded lineup, including Future, Clipse, The Roots, and Jazmine Sullivan. Sammie, who rose to fame as a child star with his 1999 hit “I Like It,” has continued to have a notable career in R&B, releasing several albums and EPs.

The Instagram post shared by Sammie also included a photo of him holding a young girl, seemingly in response to the child cruelty charges, and another of him performing on stage. His discography includes albums like *Sammie* (2006) and *Everlasting* (2019).
