The official release date for Sean “Diddy” Combs from federal prison has been established. According to information obtained by Complex Magazine from the Bureau of Prisons, the music mogul is slated to finish his 50-month sentence on May 8, 2028.
Understanding the Sentence Calculation
This calculated release date likely takes into account Diddy’s incarceration period starting from September 2024, following his arrest and subsequent conviction. He was found guilty on charges including violating the Mann Act, operating a criminal enterprise, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Federal regulations allow for inmates to serve as little as 85% of their sentence if they meet certain criteria, which appears to be applied in this case.
The terms of his release will also include a significant period of supervised probation. TMZ reported that upon completion of his prison term, Diddy will be under supervision for five years. This will involve strict conditions, including mandatory searches, no contact with victims who testified against him, and enrollment in outpatient treatment programs.
Conditions Upon Release
The treatment programs will address drug abuse and mental health issues, potentially requiring him to take prescribed medication. Furthermore, he must participate in an approved domestic violence program. As a convicted felon, Diddy will also be prohibited from owning, possessing, or having any access to firearms or other dangerous devices.
The ‘No Way Out’ producer will have five years of supervised probation. He will also be subjected to searches and cannot contact any of the victims who testified against him in his trial. — Black Enterprise Report
Diddy has not yet been assigned to a specific facility for the remainder of his sentence. Judge Arun Subramanian recommended that he be imprisoned as close as possible to the New York City Metropolitan area. His legal team had requested he serve his time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, known for its drug treatment program, but the final decision rests with the Bureau of Prisons.
