It looks like Nicki Minaj might be facing a major financial headache. Reports suggest her lavish $19.5 million Los Angeles mansion could be on the chopping block to settle a hefty unpaid judgment stemming from a 2019 lawsuit.
A Former Employee Seeks Payment
The individual seeking the sale is Thomas Weidenmuller, a former security guard who was awarded $503,000 in an assault case involving Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. Weidenmuller has now petitioned a court to force the sale of the rapper’s sprawling Hidden Hills estate.
Weidenmuller’s legal team argues that Minaj’s impressive 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom property, which she purchased in December 2022, has significant equity. Even with a $13.3 million mortgage and a $722,000 homestead exemption, they estimate there’s roughly $6 million available to satisfy the judgment.
Minaj’s Alleged ‘Intransigence’
According to Weidenmuller, he’s been left with no other choice due to Minaj’s refusal to pay the awarded sum. His attorney described the situation as “regrettable” but a direct consequence of Minaj’s “intransigence,” despite her estimated net worth of up to $190 million.
The Origin of the Lawsuit
The judgment originated from a 2019 incident that occurred at a concert in Germany. Weidenmuller alleged that Kenneth Petty assaulted him following a dispute backstage, claiming the attack resulted in severe facial injuries that required surgery.
Notably, neither Nicki Minaj nor Kenneth Petty reportedly responded to the lawsuit, which led to a default judgment being entered in March 2024. Weidenmuller is now insisting that he shouldn’t have to wait any longer to receive the payment he’s owed.
