Fans were quick to notice the U.S. was missing from the recently announced dates for Bad Bunny’s 2025–2026 “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour.” Now, the global superstar is shedding light on the reasons behind this significant omission, and it has a lot to do with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Safety Concerns Drive Tour Decisions
In a candid interview with I-D magazine, Bad Bunny explained that the potential presence of ICE at his shows was a major factor in his decision. “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate – I’ve performed there many times,” he stated. He acknowledged the positive experiences and successful concerts he’s had in the U.S. and his appreciation for connecting with Latino fans there.
However, the artist, who hails from Puerto Rico (a U.S. territory), expressed deep concern about the implications of performing in the mainland U.S. “Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world,” he explained. “But there was the issue of like, f–king ICE could be outside. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
A Global Tour with a Purpose
The “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour” is set to kick off on November 21 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The extensive global itinerary includes stops across Latin America, Europe, Japan, and Australia, culminating in Brussels, Belgium, on July 26, 2026. While the U.S. is off the table, the tour promises to bring Bad Bunny’s electrifying performances to fans worldwide.
This isn’t the first time Bad Bunny has alluded to his U.S. tour absence. Previously, he told Variety that performing in the country felt “unnecessary,” though he didn’t explicitly mention ICE at the time. His latest comments provide a much clearer and more personal explanation, emphasizing his commitment to the safety and well-being of his fans.
Prioritizing Fan Safety
Bad Bunny’s decision underscores the significant impact of immigration issues on the Latino community and their cultural experiences. By linking his tour plans directly to fears surrounding ICE, he’s sending a powerful message that fan safety and peace of mind are paramount, even potentially at the cost of U.S. tour revenue.
