Talk about a spicy situation gone wrong! A Louisiana woman is speaking out after an alleged assault by a Popeyes manager, claiming she was attacked with hot chicken following a mix-up with her mobile order. The incident, which left the customer with burns, has led to the manager’s arrest.
From Wrong Order to Violent Encounter
Shena Decuir placed her order through the Popeyes app at a Lafayette location. When she received her order and realized it was incorrect, she approached the manager to request a refund or a correction. However, instead of resolving the issue amicably, the situation reportedly took a violent turn near closing time.
According to Decuir, the manager, who appeared frustrated, demanded the incorrect food back but refused to provide a receipt for the transaction. It was then that Decuir claims the manager threw hot chicken at her. The alleged attack resulted in burns on her neck, chest, arms, legs, and feet.
Victim Shares Her Experience
Police and EMTs were called to the scene, and Decuir received treatment for her injuries. The manager was subsequently arrested and charged with simple battery. Decuir, who is disabled from a previous incident, expressed feeling targeted and helpless during the assault. She emphasized the importance of the incident being caught on camera, questioning what might have happened without it.
While grateful for the police action, Decuir remains shaken by the experience. This incident raises serious concerns about customer safety and conflict resolution within fast-food establishments. It’s a stark reminder that even a simple order mix-up can have severe consequences.
