  • Future Faces Paternity Suit Over Nine-Year-Old Son

Rapper Future, whose real name is Nayvadius Cash, is once again in the headlines for legal matters involving his children. This time, an ex-partner, Layla Sanad, has filed a paternity suit in Florida concerning their nine-year-old son.

    Paternity and Child Support Claims

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Sanad claims she had a romantic relationship with the Atlanta rapper, during which their son, identified by the initials K.W. (Kash Wilburn), was born in 2017. The lawsuit asserts that Future has already admitted to being the child’s father.

Sanad is now seeking a court order to officially establish paternity, which would pave the way for her to receive child support. Her request includes not only future payments but also two years of retroactive support from the artist.

    Legal Maneuvering Over Jurisdiction

Interestingly, reports indicate that Future himself filed a case against Sanad back in January. His legal team is attempting to have the Florida case dismissed, arguing for a more ‘convenient forum.’ Future’s own filings suggest that both Sanad and the child reside in Arizona, and he has initiated proceedings in that state.

In his Arizona case, Future reportedly acknowledges paternity and states he has been voluntarily providing Sanad with $3,500 per month. This legal back-and-forth highlights the complexities often involved in child support disputes, especially when multiple jurisdictions are concerned.

    Recent Legal Troubles

This paternity suit follows closely on the heels of another child-related legal issue. Just a couple of weeks prior, Future’s ex-girlfriend Brittni Mealy claimed he failed to comply with a court order mandating a $500,000 life insurance policy for their son, Prince. Mealy is seeking to have Future held in contempt, potentially facing jail time.

  • Paul Pierce Faces $30K Monthly Child Support Claim

It looks like former NBA player Paul Pierce is facing a major legal battle off the court. A paternity claim filed earlier this year has escalated, with the plaintiff now requesting substantial monthly child support, sole custody, and significant financial compensation.

    The $30,000 Monthly Demand

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Los Angeles-based event director Princess Santiago alleges that Pierce is the father of her infant son, King Rafael Santiago Pierce, who was born on February 6. Santiago is seeking nearly $30,000 per month in child support payments.

Beyond the monthly support, the filing also requests sole legal and physical custody of the child. Santiago is further seeking $100,000 in reimbursement for legal expenses and wants Pierce to cover half of her pregnancy and childbirth costs, which she claims total $18,846.

    Paternity and Financial History

Santiago is once again asking the court to order genetic testing to confirm paternity, a request she made when she initially filed legal action while pregnant. The filings also delve into Pierce’s considerable financial history, highlighting his nearly two-decade career in the NBA.

The documents note his estimated salary earnings of between $195 million and $203 million during his time in the league. Santiago also points to his substantial endorsement income, citing Pierce’s own public statements that he made enough from endorsements to cover his expenses and generous spending on family and partners without touching his NBA salary.

    Pierce’s Career and Santiago’s Stance

Pierce spent the majority of his illustrious career with the Boston Celtics, concluding his final seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers. Over 19 seasons, he cemented his status as one of the NBA’s most recognizable figures.

Santiago has emphasized that her legal actions are not driven by a desire for drama or attention. In a previous statement regarding the case, she asserted, ‘This isn’t about drama or attention.’ The court is currently considering her requests, including paternity confirmation, custody arrangements, and financial support.

  • Jay-Z Paternity Lawsuit Dismissed

After years of legal back-and-forth, a federal judge in California has officially dismissed the paternity lawsuit filed against hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. This ruling puts a definitive end to the claims made by Rymir Satterthwaite, who alleged that the rapper is his biological father.

    The Lawsuit and Its Dismissal

The lawsuit, brought forward by Rymir Satterthwaite, 30, through his legal guardian and paralegal Lillie Coley, claimed that Jay-Z (born Shawn Carter) fathered him during a relationship with Rymir’s late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, in the 1990s. Jay-Z has consistently denied these allegations throughout the legal proceedings.

Court documents obtained by Page Six reveal that the judge granted Jay-Z’s motion to dismiss the case “with prejudice.” This means Satterthwaite can no longer refile the same claim or demand a DNA test from the music icon. Attorneys for Jay-Z described the repeated claims as baseless, calling the filings “the latest” in a “decades-long” pattern of harassment and noting they have been “addressed — and rejected — in multiple other courts.”

    A Long Legal History

The legal dispute traces back to the early 2000s when Wanda Satterthwaite first filed a child support case in New Jersey, which was dismissed due to improper jurisdiction. The claim resurfaced in 2014 when Satterthwaite and Coley renewed their petition. Rymir Satterthwaite himself seemed to acknowledge stepping back from the case in a July Instagram post, stating, “I did withdraw my case,” but insisted his “pursuit of the truth was not over.”

Satterthwaite had previously stated his intention was not to seek back child support but rather to recover damages for “reputational and emotional distress.” He also accused Carter of manipulating the court system to suppress his claims. Jay-Z’s legal team has consistently maintained that the allegations are unfounded and have been thoroughly reviewed and refuted by the courts.

    Related Lawsuit and Potential Appeal

The dismissal also extended to a related lawsuit filed by Lillie Coley, Satterthwaite’s godmother and legal guardian, who accused Jay-Z of neglect. U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett dismissed Coley’s case earlier this week, preventing her from bringing similar allegations again. This ruling also opened the possibility for Jay-Z’s legal team to seek sanctions and recover attorney’s fees.

However, the legal battle might not be completely over. Reports indicate that Coley has filed a notice of appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, submitted on November 5th. Her filing suggests an effort to challenge the decision, focusing on “issues not previously considered” by the court.

    Jay-Z’s Family Life

Jay-Z, who shares three children – Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Rumi and Sir, 8 – with his wife, Beyoncé, has consistently denied fathering Rymir Satterthwaite. Despite the ongoing legal challenges from Coley’s side, the rapper’s legal team remains confident in their position.
