  • Cam’ron Celebrates Stefon Diggs’ Not Guilty Verdict

Rapper and media personality Cam’ron has weighed in on the recent legal news surrounding NFL star Stefon Diggs. After Diggs was found not guilty of misdemeanor assault and felony strangulation charges, Cam’ron took to his talk show, ‘It Is What It Is,’ to celebrate the verdict with his signature catchphrase.

    Celebrating the Verdict

The case stemmed from accusations made by Diggs’ former chef, Jamila Adams, who claimed to have been assaulted and involved in a sexual relationship with the NFL player. The internet buzzed with reactions, and Cam’ron was quick to add his voice to the conversation. Despite admitting he didn’t know all the trial’s details, Cam declared ‘City Boys up 200’ upon hearing the outcome.

He offered congratulations to Stefon Diggs, expressing happiness that he wasn’t found guilty, especially noting the existence of ‘footage and proof’ that seemed to support Diggs’ case. Cam’ron emphasized that he wasn’t trying to be insensitive to Adams but, based on the clips he saw, his takeaway was that ‘city boys up 200.’

A Nod to Cardi B and ‘City Girls’

Cam’ron also playfully addressed the ‘City Girls’ (Yung Miami and JT), apologizing if they felt misled by his ‘City Boys up’ declaration, given the context of the case. He then pivoted to a humorous take, joking about Cardi B, who shares a child with Stefon Diggs. Cam’ron suggested Adams might have been upset that Diggs didn’t pursue a relationship with her.

I don’t want to fuck you no more, just be my chef… Yo, and handle all these bitches that’s going to be coming through… And yo, Cardi coming over. You know what she like? Taco Tuesday, n***a. — Cam’ron

The rapper’s commentary, as usual, blended sports commentary with his unique brand of humor and cultural observations. The full segment discussing the Stefon Diggs verdict can be found around the 25-minute mark in the latest episode of ‘It Is What It Is.’

  • Lawsuit Alleging Fake Drake Streams Dismissed

It looks like the recent class-action lawsuit accusing Spotify of artificially inflating Drake’s streams has hit a dead end. A federal judge in New York has dismissed the case, meaning the accusations of a ‘pay for play’ scheme won’t be heading to trial in this instance.

    Arbitration Agreement Seals the Deal

The plaintiff, Genevieve Capolongo, accused Spotify of boosting Drake’s stream counts, but the judge’s ruling hinged on an enforceable arbitration agreement. This agreement, which Capolongo reportedly signed with the streaming service, waives the right to sue and requires disputes to be settled through private arbitration. The dismissal was ‘with prejudice,’ meaning the plaintiff cannot refile the same allegations.

It’s important to note that Drake himself was never a codefendant in this particular lawsuit. He was named as one of many major artists whose streams the plaintiff alleged were artificially boosted. This dismissal is separate from other legal claims, such as those made by RBX, who has also accused Spotify of similar practices.

    Drake’s Streaming Dominance Continues

Despite these legal accusations, Drake’s presence on Spotify remains incredibly strong. He recently set a new record for the most streams in a single day by a rapper in 2026, racking up an impressive 57.8 million streams. This highlights his massive popularity and consistent performance on the platform.

Interestingly, Drake has previously engaged in legal battles concerning stream manipulation, notably in relation to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us.’ He is currently appealing the dismissal of that defamation lawsuit, blaming UMG for distributing and promoting the track. He also faces other accusations related to alleged illegal gambling schemes involving Stake, DJ Akademiks, and Adin Ross.

    Anticipation for ‘ICEMAN’

With this latest lawsuit dismissed, the focus shifts back to Drake’s upcoming album, ‘ICEMAN,’ which is slated for release in just two weeks. The legal challenges haven’t seemed to dampen fan anticipation or criticism surrounding his new project.

  • Jay-Z’s Alleged Son’s Godmother Fights Paternity Suit

It looks like the paternity battle involving Jay-Z and Rymir Satterthwaite isn’t over yet! Despite recent court dismissals, Lillie Coley, who is Rymir’s godmother and legal guardian, is making a determined effort to keep the case alive.

    Fighting for a Second Chance

You might recall that Rymir Satterthwaite has accused Jay-Z of being his biological father for quite some time. Recently, both Rymir and Lillie Coley faced dismissals in their legal pursuits. However, Coley isn’t backing down. She recently filed a notice of appeal, arguing that the dismissal of her case was inaccurate and lacked sufficient justification.

Adding another layer to this ongoing saga, Coley has now filed a motion in a California court to revive the lawsuit. This latest filing accuses the Roc Nation mogul of dodging DNA tests and allegedly manipulating New Jersey’s legal system to prevent further action.

The Anti-SLAPP Statute and Its Impact

Coley’s original lawsuit in California accused Jay-Z of filing false documents that harmed her reputation and restricted her freedom of speech. Jay-Z’s legal team invoked California’s Anti-SLAPP statute, which is designed to quickly dismiss lawsuits that have power imbalances and aim to silence public opinion.

The court reportedly dismissed Coley’s lawsuit under this statute. It’s unclear if this was due to a failure to prove the likelihood of success early on or if the lawsuit was deemed an impediment to free speech. However, Coley is challenging this, arguing that the dismissal didn’t properly apply the Anti-SLAPP statute to filings related to their New Jersey paternity case.

What’s Next for the Paternity Case?

Coley’s argument is that New Jersey courts themselves admitted they lacked the proper jurisdiction to rule on the paternity matter. Despite this, the judge in the California case felt Coley’s updated filing didn’t address the legal flaws related to the Anti-SLAPP statute, leading to the dismissal.

With Jay-Z being such a prominent figure, it’s expected that he and his legal team will respond to these latest developments. Given the history of dismissals and appeals, it remains to be seen how the California appellate court will handle this latest motion to revive the lawsuit.

  • Lil Durk Wins $12M Lawsuit Amid Murder Trial

It’s been a challenging period for Lil Durk, facing serious legal battles including a looming murder-for-hire trial. However, the Chicago rapper just received some much-needed good news. A $12.5 million lawsuit filed against him and his team has been officially dismissed by the court, offering a glimmer of relief amidst his ongoing legal struggles.

    The $12 Million Lawsuit Explained

The lawsuit originated in 2023 from a company called Exceed Talent Capital. They claimed that Lil Durk, his label Only The Family (OTF), and his former manager Andrew Bonsu falsely promised them perpetual rights to the track “Bedtime” in exchange for a $600,000 investment. Exceed reportedly paid $450,000 of that amount.

The core of the dispute was that Exceed later discovered Durk’s exclusive recording deal with Sony’s Alamo Records meant he couldn’t grant those rights. Alamo Records even sent Exceed a cease-and-desist letter in May 2023, clarifying that Durk and his team lacked the authority to transfer rights to the song. When Exceed demanded a refund and received no response, they filed the lawsuit, alleging “manifest fraud” and seeking damages for reputational harm and financial losses.

    A Dismissal ‘With Prejudice’

The good news for Lil Durk is that the court has dismissed all claims against him and his affiliated companies “with prejudice.” This means Exceed Talent Capital cannot refile the same lawsuit against Durk or OTF again. Furthermore, neither party will recover their legal fees, and Exceed has waived the right to appeal this specific decision regarding Durk and OTF.

However, the lawsuit isn’t entirely over. Exceed’s claims are still active but now solely target Andrew Bonsu and TTPMG, LLC, who allegedly handled the negotiation of the deal. Court documents indicate that “Nothing in this Stipulation shall, or shall be construed to, release, waive, diminish, impair or otherwise affect any claims and rights that any party may possess against those non-appearing defendants.”

    Murder-For-Hire Case Looms

While this lawsuit victory is significant, Lil Durk still faces the serious charges in his murder-for-hire case. He is accused of ordering a hit that resulted in the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab. His trial is reportedly set to begin early next year, making this legal win a crucial, albeit temporary, reprieve.

Despite the heavy legal clouds, Lil Durk continues to have strong support from his fans and loved ones. This dismissal offers a moment to breathe as he prepares to face the more serious charges ahead.
