  • Skims Shipment Linked to Cocaine Bust

In a surprising turn of events, a shipment containing products from Kim Kardashian’s popular shapewear brand, Skims, became entangled in a major international drug trafficking case. Authorities in the United Kingdom recently uncovered millions of dollars worth of cocaine concealed within a cargo trailer carrying Skims merchandise.

Discovery at the Port of Harwich

The operation came to light during a routine inspection at the Port of Harwich in Essex, England. Border Force officers stopped a truck that had arrived from the Netherlands in September 2025. Inside the vehicle, they found 28 pallets filled with legitimate Skims underwear and apparel.

However, investigators soon grew suspicious. X-ray scans revealed unusual structural anomalies in the rear doors of the trailer. A more thorough search uncovered a hidden compartment packed with 90 individually wrapped bundles of cocaine, each weighing approximately two pounds. The estimated street value of these drugs was a staggering 7.2 million euros, or about $8.4 million USD.

    Driver Convicted, Skims Denies Involvement

The driver of the truck, identified as 40-year-old Jakub Jan Konkel from Poland, was later convicted in connection with the smuggling scheme. Prosecutors presented GPS and travel data showing an undocumented 16-minute stop during the journey, which they argued was crucial for loading the drugs. Authorities believe an organized trafficking network used this brief stop to insert the cocaine into the trailer.

Konkel initially denied involvement but eventually admitted to agreeing to transport the narcotics for a payment of 4,500 euros. He was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison by a judge at Chelmsford Crown Court.

    Skims Issues Statement

In response to the news, Skims released a statement to USA Today, emphasizing their complete lack of knowledge or involvement in the criminal activity. “SKIMS is aware of the recent news involving a shipment with our products,” the statement read. “We want to be absolutely clear: SKIMS had no knowledge whatsoever about this criminal activity. We had no connection to the smuggling operation, the driver, or the truck.”

  • Wiz Khalifa Wanted in Romania for Drug Offense

It seems Wiz Khalifa’s love for cannabis might have just landed him in some international hot water. Reports are surfacing that the popular rapper has been placed on Romania’s wanted persons list due to a drug conviction stemming from an incident at a music festival there.

The Incident That Led to the Warrant

The situation reportedly began during a performance in Romania where Wiz Khalifa lit a joint on stage. Following the show, Romanian police discovered approximately 18 grams of marijuana in his possession and subsequently arrested him. He was later found guilty of possession of risk drugs for personal use, resulting in a nine-month prison sentence.

Wiz Khalifa apparently attempted to get his sentence suspended in February, but his appeal was rejected by the Constanța Court of Appeal. This has now led to the issuance of an arrest warrant, placing him on the official wanted list in Romania for “drug-related offenses,” specifically possession without authorization for personal consumption.

    What Happens Next?

It remains unclear whether Romanian authorities will pursue extradition for Wiz Khalifa, who resides in the United States. Following the initial incident, Wiz took to X (formerly Twitter) to apologize, stating, “I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage.” He expressed hope for a return visit, though his current legal status suggests that might be complicated.

This situation highlights the varying legal perspectives on cannabis across different countries, even for artists who are open about their use. We’ll be keeping an eye on this developing story and will provide updates as they become available.

  • Memphis Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke Arrested for Speeding, Drug Possession

Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was arrested on Wednesday, April 1, in Arkansas, facing multiple charges including speeding and drug possession. The news comes as Clarke has been largely sidelined this 2025-26 season due to injuries.

    Details of the Arrest

According to The Associated Press, Clarke, 29, was charged with improper passing, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing, exceeding the speed limit, and trafficking a controlled substance. He was booked into the Cross County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday afternoon.

Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo acknowledged the report but declined to comment further. “I’m aware of the report, but don’t have any comments,” Iisalo stated before the team’s game against the New York Knicks.

    Season Hampered by Injuries

Clarke, who was drafted by the Grizzlies in 2019, has had a challenging season marked by injuries. He suffered a significant knee injury last season and a right calf strain in December, limiting his playing time to just two games this season. The team officially announced on March 24 that he would not play any further games as he focused on rehabilitation.

The Grizzlies PR department provided updates on Clarke’s injury status, noting that recent imaging indicated a need for additional healing before he could be cleared for high-intensity court work. Over his seven seasons with the team, Clarke has averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, but has only been available for 72 games in the last three seasons due to health issues.

  • Taxstone Faces Extra Prison Time for Drug Smuggling

Podcaster Taxstone, whose real name is Daryl Campbell, is facing a potential 33-month increase to his already substantial 35-year prison sentence. This potential addition stems from his alleged involvement in a drug smuggling operation that took place within Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) back in June 2024.

    The Alleged Smuggling Operation

Federal prosecutors are seeking to add nearly three years to Taxstone’s sentence, citing his alleged role in the contraband scheme. The plan involved Taxstone and four other inmates attempting to smuggle a rope made of synthetic cannabinoid-laced paper, over 100 strips of synthetic opioid, marijuana, cigarettes, lighters, a scalpel, and a phone charging cord into the MDC’s walls. Duct tape was reportedly used to pack the items into the rope-like device.

The operation reportedly went awry when one of the involved individuals fell while trying to maneuver the contraband through a window. Adding to the evidence against Taxstone, jail officers had previously seized a phone from a locker assigned to him, which contained voice recordings detailing the smuggling plan.

    Taxstone’s Defense and Sentencing

Taxstone’s attorney, Kenneth J. Montgomery, has responded to the prosecution’s filing. He is reportedly requesting a sentence of 25-30 months for his client but wants this time to run concurrently with his existing sentence, meaning it wouldn’t add separate punishment.

This new charge comes while Taxstone is already serving a 35-year sentence for the 2016 murder of Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, the bodyguard of rapper Troy Ave. The incident occurred during a T.I. concert. Taxstone pleaded guilty last September to one count of Conspiracy to Provide and Possess Contraband in a Prison.

    Key Details of the Case

    • Taxstone faces an additional 33 months in prison.
    • The charge relates to a 2024 drug smuggling operation at Brooklyn’s MDC.
    • He is already serving a 35-year sentence for murder.
    • His attorney is seeking concurrent sentencing.
    • A decision on the additional sentence is expected April 29.

The final decision on whether Taxstone will serve additional time will be made on April 29th. This situation highlights the ongoing legal challenges faced by the podcaster, even while incarcerated.
