Remember Drake from his days on Degrassi: The Next Generation? Well, the OVO founder is stepping back in front of the camera for a memorable cameo in the Canadian comedy series, ‘The Office Movers’! It’s been a while since his steady acting gigs in the 2000s, but this appearance proves he’s still got the comedic chops.
A Hilarious Role in ‘The Office Movers’
Season two of ‘The Office Movers,’ which premiered on November 7th on the streaming platform Crave, features Drake in a scene that’s already getting buzz. The show, created by and starring brothers Jermaine ‘Jae’ and Trevaunn ‘Trey’ Richards, follows their attempts to save a struggling moving company. Drake’s character is tasked with explaining the difference between regular movers and his elite crew of ‘real guys.’
In his performance, Drake fully embraces a tough, intimidating persona, even name-dropping celebrity chef Guy Fieri. When the person he’s speaking to doesn’t quite grasp his explanation, Drake humorously questions if he’s even speaking English, suggesting he might be speaking ‘Guyanese’ instead. It’s a hilarious and characteristically Drake moment that fans won’t want to miss.
A Cultural Ambassador’s Return
Justin Stockman, Vice President of Content Development & Programming for Bell Media, praised the show and Drake’s involvement. He described ‘The Office Movers’ as a “hilarious slapstick comedy that also has some heart” and called Drake “one of Canada’s most iconic cultural ambassadors.” The show’s strong viewership has already secured a third season, proving its popularity.
While Drake is clearly enjoying flexing his acting muscles again, he’s also keeping busy with his music. His next solo album, rumored to be titled ‘ICEMAN,’ is still expected to drop sometime in 2025, with fans eagerly awaiting more details. It seems Drake is balancing his multifaceted career with ease.
