Hart & Williams End Beef at Netflix Roast

It looks like the long-standing beef between comedians Kevin Hart and Katt Williams has officially been squashed! At a recent Netflix roast honoring Hart, Williams made a surprise appearance, trading sharp jokes with Hart before the two shared a moment of reconciliation. This unexpected truce brings an end to years of public back-and-forth between the comedy heavyweights.

Roast, Reconcile, Repeat?

Williams, introduced by Regina Hall, didn’t hold back, launching into a series of jokes that poked fun at Hart’s career and reignited past accusations. He referenced his 2024 claim that Hart was an “industry plant” who stole roles, and alluded to their 2017 feud that began when Williams dissed Tiffany Haddish before her and Hart’s movie “Night School.”

Williams also playfully mocked Hart’s participation in the controversial 2025 Riyadh Comedy Festival, joking about his own Emmy win versus Hart’s perceived lack of similar accolades. He even humorously described his performance as acting, pretending Hart was a “GOAT” for the audience. Despite the jabs, Williams framed his appearance as a gesture of goodwill, stating, “This is my Riyadh Comedy Festival, only one with a soul.”

An Olive Branch Offered

After enduring the roasting, Kevin Hart extended an olive branch to Williams. He expressed his admiration for Williams as a performer and proposed putting their long-standing beef behind them. “Me and this man have been at odds for years on years,” Hart told the audience. “Katt, we have an opportunity in real time. This is live television to put our f***ing beef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace. I want to be a brother. I want to be a friend, Katt. I want to move on. Can we move on?”

Williams accepted the handshake and hug, signaling a potential end to their public animosity. However, the comedic tension wasn’t entirely gone. During his own roast set, Hart playfully fired back at Williams, listing numerous blockbuster movies Williams allegedly turned down, including “Jumanji” and “Ride Along,” questioning why he would pass on such roles for a cameo in “Norbit.”

Moving Forward Together

Ultimately, Hart emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “It’s not good for all these white people to see two Black people fighting.” He reiterated that the beef was officially over, expressing gratitude for Williams’ appearance and performance. “So Katt, it’s over. The beef is over between me and Katt. And on a serious note, I love the fact that that man showed up tonight. He showed out.”

This reconciliation between two prominent figures in comedy offers a hopeful note, demonstrating that even long-standing rivalries can find resolution, perhaps through a shared sense of humor and a desire to move forward.
