Hasan Piker Calls Drake ‘Corny’ Amid Gambling Controversy

Political commentator Hasan Piker didn’t hold back his opinions when he appeared on Ebro’s new talk show, unleashing a fiery critique of Drake. The conversation quickly turned to the highly publicized Drake versus Kendrick Lamar beef, and Piker made his stance crystal clear: he’s firmly on Team Kendrick.

Drake’s ‘Corny’ Move

Piker didn’t just pick a side; he went a step further, labeling Drake as “corny.” For Piker, this is the ultimate offense, describing it as “the biggest crime one could commit.” His disdain for the Canadian rapper seems to stem from Drake’s association with the crypto casino platform, Stake.

Piker has been vocal about his disapproval of Stake, particularly its promotion of gambling on Twitch. He considers Stake and its spokesperson, Adin Ross, to be his “opps.” It’s no surprise then that Piker’s opinion on Drake is heavily influenced by the ongoing lawsuits Stake is facing for its gambling advertisements.

The Stake Lawsuit Connection

These lawsuits, including one filed in New Jersey, argue that ads featuring Drake and Ross concealed the fact that they faced no genuine financial risk. In contrast, ordinary consumers who followed their lead allegedly lost real money on the Stake platform. This alleged harm inflicted on consumers is a significant factor in Piker’s criticism.

DJ Akademiks also came up in the discussion, and Piker admitted he isn’t a fan of his either, attributing it to Akademiks being a “right-wing guy.” Given Piker’s strong opinions on both Drake and Akademiks, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Akademiks respond on his next stream. However, Drake, who has bigger things on his plate like his upcoming album ‘ICEMAN,’ might let this criticism slide.

What’s Next for Drake?

With Drake’s album ‘ICEMAN’ set to drop in two weeks, the focus is shifting towards his new music. While details about the album’s format have been kept under wraps, an inside source hinted at a new approach, sparking intrigue among fans. It seems Drake is ready to move past the controversy and focus on his next musical chapter.
