It appears the whirlwind romance between ‘Love Island USA’ alum Huda Mustafa and ‘Too Hot To Handle’ star Louis Russell has come to an end. The controversial couple confirmed their split after less than nine months together, citing a mutual decision to focus on their individual paths.
A Joint Statement on Separation
In a joint statement released to E! News on May 21, 2026, Mustafa and Russell announced their decision to part ways. “We want to share that after taking time to reflect on what’s best for us both, we have mutually decided to part ways for the time being,” the statement read. They expressed a desire to remain friends, emphasizing their continued respect and love for one another.
Both reality stars plan to dedicate their energy to personal pursuits. Huda, who is a mother to 5-year-old Arleigh with ex Noah Sheline, will focus on her music career and upcoming opportunities. Louis, father to 12-month-old Luka-Kai with ex Nicole Olivera, is concentrating on fatherhood and his future endeavors. They have kindly requested privacy as they navigate this new chapter.
A Relationship Marked by Drama
The couple’s relationship, which began in July 2025 shortly after Huda’s exit from the Love Island villa, was reportedly fraught with issues from the outset. In March, Louis’ ex-girlfriend, Nicole Olivera, filed a temporary restraining order against Huda, alleging threatening behavior and making ‘terrifying and extremely mentally unstable threats’ towards her and her child. Alleged text messages surfaced showing Huda making alarming statements.
Huda denied these allegations at the time, stating she was handling the matter legally. The couple also faced significant backlash earlier in their relationship after appearing to laugh off a racist slur directed at Huda’s former Love Island castmate, Olandria Carthen, during a live stream. While they claimed they didn’t hear the slur clearly and immediately ended the call, their reaction sparked widespread criticism.
Past Controversies and Lack of Support
This incident added to a pattern of controversy. Olandria and another castmate, Chelley Bissainthe, had previously unfollowed Huda on Instagram after she appeared on ‘Call Her Daddy.’ They explained that they had asked Huda to publicly condemn the racist comments and memes directed at them, particularly Olandria, but she allegedly failed to do so, citing being busy. Olandria expressed deep disappointment, given their close bond on the show.
