After a spirited campaign for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District, the beloved reality star and cosmetic dentist has conceded, but she’s not backing down.
A Strong Showing, But Not Enough for Victory
Dr. Heavenly was one of six candidates vying for the Democratic nomination in the primary. While she didn’t secure the win, she finished in second place, a testament to the hard work and support she garnered during her campaign. She graciously called the winner, Rep. Jasmine Clark, to congratulate her on the victory.
In a heartfelt Instagram video shared after the results were announced, Dr. Heavenly expressed her gratitude to her supporters. “This is not over. We’re going to come back,” she declared, showing her unwavering resolve. She praised Clark, calling her a “queen” and expressing confidence in her ability to serve the district.
Gratitude and a Promise to Return
The caption accompanying her Instagram post was filled with thanks for everyone who believed in her, prayed for her, and contributed to the campaign – from volunteers and donors to those who canvassed and made calls. She also gave a special shout-out to her husband, Dr. Damon Kimes, for his sacrifices, and her children for their unwavering support.
Dr. Kimes initially announced her intention to run for Georgia state representative before shifting her focus to the congressional seat. This seat became available following the passing of Rep. David Scott earlier this year. Clark, who has represented Georgia House District 108 since 2019, will now face Republican Jonathan James Chavez in the general election.
