Can you believe it? The iconic stoner comedy that gave us countless catchphrases and unforgettable characters, “Friday,” is hitting a major milestone: 30 years! And to celebrate this legendary anniversary, none other than Ice Cube himself is throwing a massive bash, bringing along a very special guest – Mike Epps!
A “Friday” Reunion Like No Other
Get ready for “Everyday’s Friday: Lyrics, Loungin’ and Laughing,” a one-night-only spectacular happening at the Long Beach Amphitheater on July 17th. This isn’t just a movie screening; it’s a full-blown celebration of hip-hop and comedy, featuring the stars who made “Friday” a cultural phenomenon.
Joining Ice Cube and Mike Epps on stage will be legendary artists like Warren G and Geto Boys’ Scarface, both of whom contributed to the unforgettable original soundtrack. Plus, more comedians are set to be announced, promising a night packed with laughs and incredible performances.
The Announcement That Broke the Internet
The news of this epic event dropped with a bang! Ice Cube took to the mound at Dodger Stadium to throw the ceremonial first pitch, and in a moment that had everyone buzzing, Mike Epps appeared as the catcher. It was a perfect, full-circle “Craig and Day-Day” reunion that had fans going wild, especially since it coincided with Ice Cube Bobblehead Night!
For those who grew up quoting lines from “Friday,” this reunion is a dream come true. The franchise, which kicked off with the 1995 classic, expanded with sequels “Next Friday” (2000) and “Friday After Next” (2002), introducing us to Mike Epps’ beloved character, Day-Day. And for the die-hard fans, there’s even more good news: a fourth installment, “Last Friday,” has officially received the green light from Warner Bros.!
A Message from the Stars
Ice Cube himself shared his excitement, stating, “Friday has always been about and for the fans who made it a classic and kept it alive for nearly 30 years. To be able to step back out there with Mike Epps and bring that energy to the stage for a one-night-only experience in Long Beach is special. This show represents the beginning of the next chapter.”
Mike Epps echoed the sentiment, adding, “Every day for the last 30 years someone has told me how much they loved the Friday franchise and how much the characters mean to them. To reunite with Cube and bring this one night only experience to the fans is incredible.”
