Chris Brown Claps Back at Pitchfork’s Harsh Album Review

It seems Chris Brown isn’t letting a harsh review get him down. After Pitchfork dished out a brutal 1.3 out of 10 rating for his new self-titled album, ‘Brown,’ the R&B superstar took to Instagram to fire back at the critics.

Pitchfork’s Scathing Review Sparks Debate

The review, which didn’t hold back and even described the album as “a piece of sh-t,” has certainly stirred up a conversation online. This isn’t the first time Brown has faced public scrutiny recently; his upcoming co-headlining tour with Usher has also been a hot topic of discussion.

Fans have been quick to point out what they see as inconsistencies in Pitchfork’s past ratings, drawing comparisons to other artists like Ice Spice and even the legendary Michael Jackson. The fallout from the review has sent social media into a frenzy, with many debating the publication’s assessment.

Brown’s Direct Response to Critics

In his Instagram Story on Tuesday night, Brown made his stance crystal clear. He expressed that the review had no impact on his confidence in his music. “I don’t give a f—k what these n—s is talking about; I know exactly who my fans are and I know exactly who’s hearing this album,” he stated.

He went on to say, “If you’re not my fan, I don’t want you to listen to my sh-t. Go listen to motherf—king Zara Larsson or something.” This pointed jab at Zara Larsson is particularly noteworthy, as she had previously mentioned blocking Brown on Spotify, citing that she doesn’t listen to “abusers.”

Album Appreciation Over Time

Even before the review dropped, Brown had expressed his belief that his album ‘Brown,’ released on May 8, would gain more appreciation over time. His recent comments suggest he’s sticking to that sentiment, doubling down on his conviction that the music will speak for itself to his core audience.
