Uh oh, it looks like there might be some serious financial drama brewing for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley and her husband, Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley. Their multimillion-dollar Los Angeles home is reportedly facing the threat of foreclosure, and PK is taking drastic measures.
PK’s Plea to the Court
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, PK has asked a judge to force the sale of their family home. His reasoning? He claims their finances have gone completely off the rails, partly due to Dorit’s alleged extravagant spending habits over the past year.
The filing reportedly accuses Dorit of dropping over $1 million on luxury fashion items. We’re talking designer clothing, handbags, and accessories galore! Specifics include nearly $995,000 on these high-end purchases, with significant amounts spent at brands like Louis Vuitton ($69,000), Chanel ($69,000), and Hermès ($38,000).
Mortgage Payments and Family Finances
Adding to the financial strain, PK claims that Dorit hasn’t made any mortgage payments on the home, despite living there exclusively with their children. He asserts that he’s been the one handling the majority of the family’s financial obligations, including mortgage payments and daily household expenses.
The couple purchased the property back in 2019, but it’s now reportedly tied to over $6 million in mortgage debt. Notices of default have allegedly already been filed, which is a serious red flag for any homeowner.
Attempts to Avoid Foreclosure
PK states that he spent months trying to work with lenders to prevent foreclosure and encouraged selling the home before the situation escalated. Now, he’s seeking court intervention, believing a forced sale is the best way to protect the family’s equity and avoid losing everything if foreclosure proceedings continue.
This isn’t the first time Dorit’s spending has come under scrutiny. During a recent reunion episode, Kyle Richards questioned Dorit about her finances. Dorit defended her ability to spend, stating, ‘I can afford to spend $4,000. I’m very lucky to.’
Being judged by you, having you go and speak to the girls, the group about, ‘That’s a lot of money she’s spending.’ Kyle, especially, from you. — Dorit Kemsley
Kyle Richards, however, pushed back, noting that she wasn’t in the same financial position. The tension over spending and financial responsibility seems to be a recurring theme.
