‘Love & Hip Hop’ Franchise Ending After 15 Years

For over a decade, the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise has been a staple on VH1, delivering unforgettable drama, iconic memes, and launching the careers of stars like Cardi B and Joseline Hernandez. But after kicking off in 2011, this influential reality TV series is officially coming to an end.

An Era Concludes with ‘The Final Chapter’

Paramount announced the franchise’s conclusion on Friday, May 2, 2026, in a press release that also detailed plans for a celebratory send-off. A six-part special, titled ‘Love & Hip Hop: The Final Chapter,’ is set to air this fall.

This special promises a deep dive into the franchise’s impact, exploring the rise of its breakout stars, the business empires they’ve built, and the cultural conversations it sparked. It will feature new interviews with cast members from every city – New York, Atlanta, Hollywood, and Miami – alongside producers, executives, and cultural critics.

Current Seasons to Conclude

While the franchise is ending, it’s worth noting that two of its installments, ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ and ‘Love & Hip Hop: Miami,’ will continue to air their current seasons on MTV and BET, respectively. The Miami season, which had its midseason premiere on April 8, is expected to wrap up before ‘The Final Chapter’ special begins.

A Look Back at the Legacy

Executive producer Lashan Browning emphasized the franchise’s focus on people: “The ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise has always been about the people. The incredible talent who trusted us with their real lives… and the viewers who were here for all of it.” The statement highlights the dedication from everyone involved, ensuring the ending resonates with both the cast and the loyal fanbase.

The conclusion of ‘Love & Hip Hop’ marks the end of a significant era in reality television, especially on VH1. This follows the earlier announcement that ‘Basketball Wives,’ another long-running reality series, would also not be returning after 12 seasons.
