Joe Budden Predicts Drake Diss on J. Cole for ‘ICEMAN’

Get ready, hip-hop fans! The drama surrounding Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole continues to unfold, and now Joe Budden is weighing in. During a recent episode of his podcast, Budden shared his prediction: Drake is likely to take shots at J. Cole on his highly anticipated album, ‘ICEMAN,’ set to drop on May 15.

Budden’s Take on the J. Cole Diss

Budden believes Drake won’t be mentioning J. Cole in a positive light. “I wanna hear the Cole diss on Drake’s album. Yes, I think he’s getting dissed,” Budden stated, adding that even if Cole is hiding in the ‘China league,’ Drake’s fans still love him. This suggests Budden anticipates a direct confrontation on the new tracks.

The context for this prediction stems from J. Cole’s involvement in the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar back in 2024. While Cole initially joined Drake, he soon apologized for his diss tracks and stepped back from the conflict. This move reportedly caused him to push back the release of his own album, ‘The Fall-Off,’ which eventually came out earlier this year.

Drake’s ‘ICEMAN’ Rollout and Installation

Drake’s promotion for ‘ICEMAN’ has been nothing short of epic. He recently unveiled a massive ice block installation in Toronto, which fans eagerly tried to dismantle with tools like ice picks and blow torches to uncover the release date. Eventually, a flyer was found, confirming the May 15 drop.

However, the public’s enthusiasm led to safety concerns. Toronto’s Fire Chief, Jim Jessop, confirmed the installation would be melted due to “dangerous and unsafe activities,” citing the use of flammable liquids and open flames in an uncontrolled environment. This move prioritizes public safety while adding another layer of intrigue to the album’s release.

Previous Singles and Future Tracks

Drake has already dropped three singles to build anticipation for ‘ICEMAN’: ‘What Did I Miss?,’ ‘Which One’ featuring Central Cee, and ‘Dog House’ with Yeat and Julia Wolf. With the release date set and speculation about diss tracks running high, fans are eagerly awaiting what Drake has in store for ‘ICEMAN.’
