With Drake’s new album ‘ICEMAN’ just weeks away, the hype is reaching a fever pitch. But it seems some fans aren’t just excited about new music; they’re also looking to reignite the infamous beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. How are they doing it? By flooding Kendrick’s Instagram comments with ice emojis!
The ‘ICEMAN’ Release and Fan Dedication
Drake officially announced that ‘ICEMAN’ will drop on May 15, 2026, a date fans have been eagerly anticipating. It’s been nearly three years since his last solo project, ‘For All The Dogs,’ which received a mixed reception. This new album presents a significant opportunity for Drake to reaffirm his status at the top of the rap game.
The fan dedication was evident when they went to extreme lengths, even attempting to break through a massive ice sculpture in Toronto just to uncover the release date. This level of engagement highlights how active and invested Drake’s fanbase is right now.
Reigniting the Beef: The Instagram Trolling
Following the ‘ICEMAN’ announcement, a segment of Drake’s fanbase decided to take a more rudimentary, yet effective, approach to taunting Kendrick Lamar. They descended upon K. Dot’s Instagram page, spamming the comments section with ice emojis – a clear nod to Drake’s album title and a reminder of their past lyrical battles.
While it’s unclear if this tactic will prompt a response from Kendrick or even lead him to disable comments (which some Drake fans are already anticipating, ready to call him ‘soft’ if he does), it certainly adds another layer of drama to the ‘ICEMAN’ rollout. The album is already shaping up to be one of the most hyped releases of the year.
What’s Next for ‘ICEMAN’?
With the release date set and fans actively engaging in online antics, the anticipation for ‘ICEMAN’ is undeniable. It’s an exciting time for rap fans, and May 15th is shaping up to be a major day for streaming services. Whether this album will be Drake’s definitive comeback after the beef remains to be seen, but the buzz is certainly there.
