Kimora Lee Simmons & Tim Leissner Divorce Amid Prison Sentence

It looks like the marriage between fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons and former Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner is officially over. In a move that might not come as a surprise to many, Leissner has filed for divorce, and it happened just days before he began serving his prison sentence.

Divorce Filed Amidst Legal Troubles

Court documents reveal that Leissner filed for divorce on April 20, 2026, but had actually signed the paperwork back on February 4. This was just two days before he reported to a federal correctional facility in Pennsylvania on February 6 to start a two-year sentence. The reason cited for the split? “Irreconcilable differences.”

Leissner and Simmons tied the knot in March 2014 and share an 11-year-old son named Wolfe. In his divorce filing, Leissner is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their son. He’s also asking the court to block Simmons from receiving spousal support, while he himself is seeking alimony from her.

The Shadow of the 1MDB Scandal

This divorce comes as Leissner serves time for his involvement in the massive 1MDB scandal. He pleaded guilty in 2018 to charges related to billions of dollars being embezzled from a Malaysian state investment fund. During his sentencing last year, Leissner offered a public apology, stating, “First and foremost, I offer my sincere apology to the people of Malaysia. I deeply regret my actions.”

Prison records indicate that Leissner is scheduled for release on September 29, 2027. His attorney, Henry Mazurek, confirmed the surrender to authorities. As for Kimora Lee Simmons, she has remained silent on the divorce and her husband’s ongoing legal issues.
