Kimora Lee Simmons’ Husband Files for Divorce, Seeks Half Her Assets

It appears the tumultuous marriage between fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons and financier Tim Leissner has officially reached its end. Leissner has filed for divorce, and the details emerging from the legal documents are nothing short of audacious, especially considering his own controversial past.

A Costly Divorce Filing

Leissner, who was famously implicated in the massive 1MDB international fraud scandal, filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on February 4, 2026. While he cited the standard “irreconcilable differences,” insiders suggest the couple has been living separate lives for years, with some sources claiming they haven’t been truly together since March 2022. This filing seems more like a formal acknowledgment of an already ended relationship.

However, the most shocking aspect of the filing is Leissner’s demands. He is reportedly seeking spousal support from Kimora Lee Simmons, the founder of Baby Phat. Furthermore, he’s asking the court to prevent Kimora from collecting any financial support from him and is requesting half of her assets, along with coverage for his legal fees. This comes after Leissner faced significant legal battles and forfeited millions in relation to the 1MDB scandal, while Kimora’s business empire has remained strong.

The ‘Bigamist’ Backstory

The foundation of their marriage was controversial from the start. In 2022, Leissner admitted under oath that he had forged divorce papers in 2014 to marry Kimora, as he was still legally married to his previous wife, Judy Chan, at the time. Despite this illegal beginning, they remained married for over a decade and share an 11-year-old son, Wolfe Lee Leissner. Leissner is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son.

Kimora Lee Simmons, who is approaching 51, appears unfazed by the divorce filing. In a December 2025 interview, she spoke candidly about her lack of relationships with her children’s fathers, stating, “Guys are weird.” She remains focused on her five children—Ming, Aoki, Kenzo, Gary, and Wolfe—and her adopted son, Jaden.

I do not have a relationship really with any of my children’s fathers. Guys are weird. — Kimora Lee Simmons
