D4vd Accused of Dismembering Teen in Murder Case

Shocking allegations have emerged regarding the artist D4vd, who was arrested last Thursday and charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. Prosecutors have now detailed the gruesome method they believe was used in the crime, painting a disturbing picture of the events.

According to a press release issued on Monday, prosecutors allege that D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, used a “sharp instrument” to dismember Rivas. Her body was discovered in the trunk of his Tesla back in September 2025, over four months after she had gone missing in 2024.

The Allegations: Sexual Relations and Murder

District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stated that Rivas was under 14 when Burke allegedly engaged in repeated “lewd and lascivious sexual relations” with her. The prosecution claims that when Rivas threatened to expose his alleged criminal conduct and potentially derail his music career, Burke murdered her.

The details are harrowing: prosecutors allege Burke cut up Rivas’ body and placed it in two bags, which were then stored in the front trunk of his car. The dismembered remains reportedly sat there, decomposing, until they were found at a tow yard on September 8, 2025. DA Hochman expressed a commitment to seeking justice for Rivas and her loved ones.

A Lengthy Investigation and Potential Penalties

D4vd’s arrest occurred more than seven months after Rivas’ body was discovered. The singer was reportedly on tour at the time but canceled his remaining concerts and stated he was cooperating with authorities. Rivas had previously run away from home in 2024.

Due to “special circumstances” surrounding the case, D4vd could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole. These circumstances include the alleged “lying in wait” nature of the killing, the motive of financial gain, and Rivas being considered a witness to alleged lewd acts. Prosecutors will decide at a later date whether to pursue the death penalty.
