Good news for reality star Taylor Frankie Paul! The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has announced that she will not face criminal charges stemming from a domestic violence investigation involving her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
Evidence Falls Short for Charges
The DA’s office stated that investigators did not uncover enough evidence to support criminal charges against Paul. In a statement, they explained, ‘The remaining incidents lack sufficient evidence to support filing criminal charges where the state must be able to prove such allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.’
Prosecutors noted that some alleged misdemeanor incidents were too old to pursue due to the statute of limitations. Other claims were either not considered criminal offenses or simply lacked the necessary corroboration and specificity.
A Publicly Played-Out Relationship
Paul and Mortensen have been involved in a tumultuous relationship, with both parties accusing each other of domestic violence and filing temporary protective orders in recent months. Their turbulent dynamic has been a focal point on the reality series ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,’ which premiered in 2024.
Reports indicate that production on the series was put on hold during the investigations. Additionally, Mortensen is expected to be edited out of the upcoming season of ‘Vanderpump Villa.’
Paul’s Reaction
Upon receiving the news that she would not be charged, Taylor Frankie Paul took to Instagram to share her relief. ‘Cried when I got the call,’ she wrote. ‘THANK YOU to those that have stood with me.’ Her message conveyed a deep sense of gratitude for the support she received during this challenging period.
This decision brings a significant legal chapter to a close for Paul, allowing her to move forward after a highly publicized and difficult situation.
