Snoop Dogg expressed his excitement, stating it’s finally his time to share his story after seeing other hip-hop narratives, like “Straight Outta Compton,” find success. He emphasized his desire for authenticity, hinting that the biopic is expected to be R-rated to capture his unfiltered life.
After my brothers got to tell their story with ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ now it’s my turn. […] If we gonna do a Snoop Dogg movie, I gotta get gangster with it. — Snoop Dogg
The film aims to chronicle the life of Calvin Broadus Jr., from his humble beginnings to becoming a global icon. Snoop Dogg himself is set to produce, alongside veteran producer Brian Grazer, marking a significant move for Death Row Pictures in partnership with Universal.
