The following day, McCann called with the news of Jenae’s death, stating she had “done something to herself” 11 hours prior.

The family noted an unidentified mark around Jenae’s neck when McCann found her. While McCann is not officially a suspect, Jenae’s family has accused him of withholding information. They have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help bring her body home and support the investigation overseas, as they seek clarity on the circumstances surrounding her death.
