It appears there’s a significant legal battle brewing over child support. Ayesha Howard is accusing Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards of intentionally hiding assets and financial connections to California in an effort to avoid paying child support for their infant daughter.
Accusations of Deceit and Evasion
In a new affidavit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Howard claims that Edwards “intentionally concealed” his ties to California when she initially sought child support back in 2024. At the time, Edwards reportedly testified that he had no significant business or personal connections to the state, arguing that California courts lacked jurisdiction over him.
However, Howard alleges she uncovered evidence in August 2025 that contradicts Edwards’ previous statements. This evidence reportedly shows years of California-based financial activity, including a Beverly Hills bank account, an LLC, and trademarks linked to a business within the state.
New Evidence Surfaces
According to the filing, Howard states that Edwards “intentionally omitted and concealed long-standing California-based financial assets and financial activities.” She further alleges that these connections were hidden specifically “in an effort to evade personal jurisdiction and child support obligations.”
The filing claims that Edwards has maintained a “business, financial, contractual and economic presence” in California for nearly six years. This new information is crucial as Howard is asking the court to reconsider its earlier child support decision based on this newly discovered evidence.
A Complex Legal Situation
This latest development comes just days after Howard denied rumors that Edwards had already fulfilled his child support obligations in full. The situation highlights the complexities and potential conflicts that can arise in high-profile child support cases, especially when significant financial assets are involved.
