Marvin Sapp’s Wife Addresses Wedding Funding Rumors

There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the recent wedding of gospel artist Marvin Sapp and his new wife, LaBoris Cole-Sapp. Following the lavish ceremony on March 20th, rumors began circulating that church funds were used to finance the event. However, LaBoris Cole-Sapp has stepped forward to set the record straight.

Setting the Record Straight

During an Easter Sunday service, Cole-Sapp directly addressed the online speculation. She firmly stated that the church did not pay for their wedding, emphasizing that such claims are untrue. “Y’all stop lying,” she told the congregation, defending her husband and their integrity by adding, “You don’t take or rob the church.”

The wedding, held at The Chosen Vessel Church in Fort Worth, Texas, certainly garnered attention. Reports highlighted elements like a helicopter entrance, multiple designer gowns, and extensive floral decorations. The helicopter entrance, in particular, became a focal point for those questioning the wedding’s funding.

Personal Finances and Outside Income

Cole-Sapp made it clear that the couple handled the wedding expenses themselves. She personally covered the cost of the helicopter entrance, stating, “Everybody’s not broke, and everybody doesn’t need the church’s money. God’s been good, y’all.” She also pointed out that both she and Marvin Sapp have income streams independent of their church roles.

This union marks Marvin Sapp’s first marriage in 16 years, following the passing of his late wife, MaLinda Prince Sapp. He and Cole-Sapp were reportedly friends for over a decade before their relationship began in 2024. Cole-Sapp’s direct response is the first public statement from the couple addressing the financial rumors surrounding their special day.
