‘Ketamine Queen’ Gets 15 Years in Matthew Perry Death

The woman federal prosecutors have labeled the “Ketamine Queen,” Jasveen Sangha, has received a 15-year federal prison sentence in connection with the tragic overdose death of ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry in 2023.

Guilty Plea and Drug Distribution

In September 2025, Sangha pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including maintaining a drug-involved premise and distributing ketamine, with one count specifically related to distribution resulting in death or serious bodily injury. Prosecutors alleged that Sangha supplied drugs to Perry’s friend, Erik Fleming, who then allegedly passed them to Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.

The indictment claims that in October 2023, Sangha and Fleming sold Perry, through Iwamasa, 51 vials of ketamine. Tragically, on October 23, 2023, Iwamasa reportedly injected Perry with at least three shots of ketamine, leading to the actor’s death on October 28, 2023. An autopsy later revealed that acute ketamine effects, along with drowning and other contributing factors, caused the 54-year-old actor’s demise.

Continued Dealing and Cold Callousness

Prosecutors argued that Sangha continued to sell drugs even after learning about Matthew Perry’s death. In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that Sangha contacted Fleming via Signal to distance themselves from the situation and instructed him to delete messages. “She didn’t care and kept selling,” prosecutors wrote. “Her actions show a cold callousness and disregard for life. She chose profits over people.”

This sentencing brings the total number of guilty pleas in connection with Perry’s death to five. Fleming and Iwamasa are awaiting sentencing, while doctors Mark Chavez and Salvador Plasencia have already received sentences of home detention and federal prison time, respectively.

A Family’s Plea for Justice

Before Sangha’s sentencing, Debbie Perry, Matthew Perry’s stepmother, submitted a victim impact statement. She implored the court to impose the maximum sentence, expressing the profound and irreversible pain caused to their family. “The pain you’ve caused to hundreds maybe thousands is irreversible. There is no joy to be found, no light in the window. They won’t be back. That thought comes through our day everyday,” she wrote, highlighting the devastating impact of Sangha’s actions.

The 15-year sentence requested by prosecutors was granted, reflecting the severity of the charges and the devastating consequences of Sangha’s drug distribution. This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of illicit drug trafficking and its fatal outcomes.
