Young Brothers’ Snack Business Thrives in Connecticut

Move over, lemonade stands! In Bridgeport, Connecticut, two young brothers are proving that entrepreneurship knows no age limit. Raymond, 6, and Raymere, 7, are the dynamic duo behind Clark Boyz Snack Shop & Party Supplies, a business that started with a simple snack cart and has blossomed into a beloved community staple.

From Snack Cart to Community Staple

What began three years ago has evolved into a thriving venture offering not just sweet treats but also essential party rentals. Clark Boyz now provides everything from concession carts with cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cone machines to bounce houses, throne chairs, photo booths, and baby shower décor. Their loyal customer base, numbering around 50 regulars, speaks volumes about the trust and quality they bring.

Raymond, a second grader, shared his favorite part of the business: “the trust we have with our customers.” The brothers, who launched their snack shop in the summer of 2023, now operate year-round, serving concessions at various community events. These include Family Fun Day at the Beardsley Zoo, SingerCT’s Black History Movie Night, Mayor Joe Ganim’s Movie Night on the Beach, the city’s Juneteenth celebration, and the First Thursday Fiesta at City Hall.

Learning Independence and Investment

The boys’ mother, Joeleen Spain, plays a crucial role in nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit. She focuses on teaching them independence and the value of money, emphasizing the importance of investing in themselves. “I want them to understand what investing in themselves looks like and believe they can do whatever they put their minds to,” Spain shared.

The business’s growth is a testament to their collaborative efforts. Raymere’s idea led to adding an ice cart, while Raymond’s vision inspired the expansion into party supplies. Their mother proudly notes, “We save to grow.” This dedication to reinvesting profits is key to their sustained success.

Refreshing New Offerings

As part of their 2026 expansion plans, Raymond and Raymere have introduced a Philly water ice cart. This frozen treat, similar to Italian ice but with a smoother taste, adds a refreshing option for their customers. The brothers were out front introducing this newest addition just ahead of Easter weekend, bringing it directly to the Bridgeport community.

The commitment of the Clark Boyz extends beyond just sales; all earnings are reinvested into the business for inventory, maintenance, and repairs. This dedication ensures their carts and services remain top-notch, reflecting their serious approach to entrepreneurship at such a young age.
