Gervonta Davis Files $20M Countersuit Against Accuser

Undefeated boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis is fighting back against accusations of assault, filing a $20 million countersuit against the woman who accused him of domestic violence. Davis vehemently denies striking or choking his former girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, during an incident at a strip club in October 2025.

Denials and Allegations of a Shakedown

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Davis claims Rossel’s accusations are false and constitute a “shakedown attempt.” He alleges that she previously demanded $1.1 million from him to drop the claims. Davis also stated that Rossel voluntarily spent two nights with him at her residence after the alleged incident.

The boxer’s legal team argues that the accusations have severely impacted his career, specifically citing the cancellation of his highly anticipated boxing match against Jake Paul, scheduled for November 14, 2025. This cancellation, reportedly due to the domestic violence allegations, cost Davis an estimated $20 million payday.

The Accuser’s Response and Surveillance Footage

Rossel’s legal team has responded to the countersuit by filing a motion to dismiss Davis’s claims. They argue that he cannot sue her for reporting an alleged crime. The situation escalated when surveillance footage, allegedly showing Davis grabbing Rossel by the neck and pushing her through a hallway and down stairs at Tootsie’s Cabaret, was presented in Florida court.

What Mr. Davis did to Courtney was outrageous. And the judge agreed. This is not the first, second, or third time that Mr. Davis has acted in this manner. — Accuser’s Attorney

The accuser’s attorney further stated that the video evidence supports Rossel’s account, aligning with her affidavit, the police arrest report, and her employer’s incident report. Davis’s attorneys expressed disappointment with the court’s ruling on the video, asserting that “the video tells the entire story.”

Criminal Charges and Legal Battles

Following the initial allegations, Miami prosecutors filed criminal charges, including attempted kidnapping and battery, and issued an arrest warrant for Davis. He was apprehended after evading law enforcement for two weeks. This civil lawsuit adds another layer to the ongoing legal challenges Davis is facing.
