Just as Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice appears to be embracing a new high-profile romance, serious allegations of domestic violence have surfaced from his ex-girlfriend. The timing couldn’t be more complicated, as Rice has officially gone public with rapper Rubi Rose.
The couple, who had been the subject of fan speculation for weeks, made their relationship Instagram official on Valentine’s Day 2026. Rubi Rose shared a series of intimate photos, including mirror selfies and a kiss, with the Super Bowl champion, who even reposted some of the content to his own story.
Allegations of Long-Term Abuse Surface
However, while Rice is seemingly enjoying his new relationship, his ex-girlfriend, Dacoda Nichole Jones, has come forward with harrowing accusations. Sharing a series of now-deleted Instagram posts accompanied by graphic photos, Jones alleges a pattern of ‘terrifying’ domestic violence spanning eight years. She claims Rice was physically abusive, even while she was pregnant.
The alleged abuse detailed by Jones includes physical violence, with photos showing significant bruising on her face, chest, arms, and legs. She also shared images of property damage, such as ripped-out light switches and torn towel bars, and claimed Rice once locked her outside in freezing weather while she was pregnant.
Support from Other ‘WAGs’
Jones expressed her exhaustion with staying silent and protecting Rice’s image, stating, ‘I’ve been through too much in a span of 8 years and I’ve had ENOUGH!’ Her brave public statement has garnered support from other women connected to the Chiefs organization. Sheawna Weathersby (ex of Chris Jones) and Tia Jones (former fiancée of Xavier Worthy) were among those who left supportive comments on Dacoda’s posts.
The NFL and the Chiefs organization are reportedly aware of the social media allegations and are in communication regarding the matter. This comes at a precarious time for Rashee Rice, who already served a six-game suspension in 2025 for a high-speed car crash in Dallas. His standing with the league regarding its Personal Conduct policy is already on shaky ground.
Do you believe Rashee Rice has changed, or could these allegations lead to further consequences from the NFL? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
