Rihanna Home Attacker Faces License Loss

Ivanna Ortiz, the 35-year-old woman accused of a shocking attack on Rihanna’s home, is facing more than just serious criminal charges. Her professional future as a speech-language pathologist is also hanging by a thread.

A Career in Jeopardy

Ortiz, who has been a licensed speech-language pathologist in California since April 2016, could be stripped of her ability to practice her profession. This field involves helping people of all ages with communication and swallowing disorders. Her license is currently valid until June 2027, but that could change drastically if the legal proceedings go against her.

According to reports, a member of the board overseeing licensing in her field wants her unable to practice if law enforcement doesn’t drop the charges. This adds another layer of severe consequence to the already grave accusations she faces.

The Alleged Attack and Charges

The incident in question occurred on March 8, when Ortiz allegedly fired an assault rifle at Rihanna’s home. Inside the residence at the time were Rihanna, her three children, A$AP Rocky, her mother, and several employees. Thankfully, no one sustained physical injuries during the terrifying event.

Ortiz was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene in her Tesla. Police found her with a wig, the assault rifle, and seven shell casings. She has pleaded not guilty through her attorney to over a dozen charges, including attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

This is the kind of conduct that easily could have resulted in numerous homicides. — Alexander Bott, Deputy District Attorney

No Personal Connection, But Hateful Posts

Interestingly, there appears to be no personal connection between Ivanna Ortiz and Rihanna. However, investigators did uncover hateful posts made by Ortiz on Facebook in February. One post directly addressed Rihanna, using derogatory language and accusing her of indirect communication.

Given the severity of the alleged actions, Ortiz’s bail was set at a staggering $1,875,000. If convicted, she faces a potential life sentence in state prison. The combination of criminal charges and the potential loss of her professional license paints a grim picture for her future.
