It’s a tough headline for fans of Bachelor Nation: James McCoy Taylor, who once vied for a rose on ‘The Bachelorette,’ has found himself in legal trouble once again. This marks his second arrest on charges related to assault, raising serious concerns.
New Charges Surface for Taylor
Reports indicate that Taylor was taken into custody on March 20th, facing charges that include causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint. These charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred back in April 2024. Thankfully, he was released the same day after posting a $10,000 bond. As of now, authorities haven’t released further details, and Taylor himself has remained silent on the matter.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has faced the legal system. In 2023, he was involved in a separate case concerning allegations made by a 19-year-old college student. According to police reports from that incident, the accuser claimed that after meeting at a bar and going to his residence, the situation escalated.
Past Allegations and Plea Deal
The woman alleged that she withdrew consent, after which Taylor allegedly restrained her, forcibly kissed her, and prevented her from leaving. Text messages reportedly showed her pleas for help, stating, “Please come get me” and “I’m not ok.” Taylor, however, denied these claims at the time, describing the encounter as consensual.
Ultimately, in 2025, Taylor pleaded guilty to the charges. His sentence included community service, fines, and mandatory anger management classes. He was also ordered to have no contact with the accuser and was banned from a specific local entertainment district.
This latest arrest comes at a time when the ‘Bachelorette’ franchise is already under increased scrutiny. The recent cancellation of Taylor Frankie Paul’s season, following the resurfacing of past allegations against her, has put a spotlight on the personal lives of those involved in Bachelor Nation.
